-- The 2.0 version of EMC's Mozy cloud-based backup service boasts 25% faster backups, lower bandwidth usage, and a Mozy 2xProtect feature that allows users to back up to a local external drive in addition to Mozy's data centers, according to an article published today on InfoStor sister site Enterprise Storage Forum.
EMC claims more than a million consumer users and 50,000 business customers for Mozy, a 250% increase since EMC acquired Mozy 2 ½ years ago. The service protects approximately 30PB of data.
MozyHome and MozyPro are priced at $4.95 per month, with the first 2GB for free.
