-- EMC has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Configuresoft, a provider of server configuration, change and compliance management software. The transaction is expected to close in June, subject to customary closing conditions. The announcement builds upon an OEM relationship with Configuresoft. Upon completion of the acquisition, Configuresoft will become a part of EMC's Resource Management Software Group.

-- STEC announced that its Zeus IOPS solid-state disk (SSD) drives have been integrated into HP's StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA) line of disk arrays. Other STEC SSD OEMs include Compellent, EMC, Fujitsu, Hitachi Data Systems, IBM and Sun.

-- Texas Memory Systems announced that its RamSan-500 solid-state disk (SSD) systems have been certified interoperable with IBM's System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC) virtualization platforms. The RamSan-500 includes a flash-based RAM cache to buffer write performance and 2TB of SLC NAND flash-based capacity.
 
-- Emulex announced that its LightPulse FCoE CNAs are available with HP ProLiant DL100/300/500 servers and StorageWorks MSA, EVA and XP disk arrays. The company also announced that the FCoE CNAs are compatible with
FCoE-based switches from Brocade and Cisco.

-- Pillar Data Systems has added storage profiles for Citrix XenServer to its Axiom line of application-aware storage systems.

-- Panasas has partnered with IBM to optimize and integrate the Panasas ActiveStor storage systems, and PanFS Parallel File System, with IBM Power servers running Linux. The combined systems are available from Panasas and its resellers.

-- Mellanox Technologies announced that its MTS3610 324-port 40Gbps InfiniBand switch is available through HP as part of the HP Unified Cluster Portfolio that includes servers, networks, storage, and cluster management software. The MTS3610 switches provide up to 25.9Tbps switching capability, and non blocking 40Gbps bandwidth per port.

-- NetEx is now offering a free, 10 day trial download of its HyperIP WAN optimization software. According to the company, HyperIP can speed VMware data migrations by 6x. The software download allows organizations to test HyperIP with replication, backup, iSCSI, cloud storage, and other IP-based data transfer requirements and managed service offerings.

-- Storage startup Axxana today announced that it has partnered with Avnet Technology Solutions Mexico, EMC's largest channel partner in that country, to distribute Axxana's Enterprise Data Recording (EDR) disaster recovery technology in Mexico. Axxana recently announced commercial availability of its first product, the Phoenix RP System, which is integrated with and augments EMC's RecoverPoint Asynchronous Long Distance Replication.
