-- QuorumLabs, which recently introduced the onQ business continuity appliance for SMBs, has received $5.3 million in Series A funding.

-- Vizioncore has launched vReplicator 3.0, a virtual machine (VM) replication product that enables disaster recovery and business continuity. VReplicator 3.0 uses patent-pending technologies called Active Block Mapping (ABM) and Change Block Tracking (CBT) to optimize data transmission by replicating only changed blocks of data. VReplicator 3.0 is available for trial and download now.

-- Nexsan has doubled the capacity of its SATABeast storage system from 42TB to 84TB in a four unit (4U) of rack space form factor. As with all of the company's storage systems, the Nexsan SATABeast features AutoMAID (Automatic Massive Array of Idle Disks) technology for policy-based power management that cuts energy demands up to 70% without affecting storage performance, according to the company. Pricing for a fully populated SATABeast with 2TB drives starts at $38,000.

-- Samsung Electronics announced the STORY Station Plus, its new line-up of 3.5-inch external hard drives featuring an external serial ATA (eSATA) interface for faster data transfers. The 3Gbps drives are available in up to 2TB densities. The STORY Station Plus features a three-year limited warranty and the 2TB version has a $299 MSRP.
