-- Xiotech and GlassHouse Technologies have announced a partnership under which the two companies will engage in a range of joint development and marketing activities designed to deliver enterprise storage solutions based on Xiotech's Intelligent Storage Element (ISE) technology.

-- Intel announced that the new Intel Xeon processor C5500/C3500 series – previously codenamed "Jasper Forest" -- will be used in products by embedded, communications, networking and storage industry vendors including Caswell, Gigabyte, Kontron, Lanner Electronics Inc. and Trenton Systems. The processors are paired with the Intel 3420 chipset and are designed for communications, embedded and storage applications.

-- Brocade and McAfee have entered a strategic partnership to deliver interoperable end-to-end network security solutions. As part of the partnership, Brocade will work in conjunction with McAfee to integrate security capabilities into the Brocade family of networking products. The combined Brocade and McAfee network security solutions will include McAfee Firewall Enterprise and intrusion prevention technologies operating with the Brocade NetIron MLX Series routers, Brocade ServerIron application delivery controllers that load-balance the McAfee Firewall Enterprise technology, and the McAfee Network Access Control (NAC) solution interoperating with Brocade FastIron CX and FastIron WS compact edge switches.

-- Voxell dot Net, a NYC-based managed hosting and IaaS provider, has selected ParaScale's software as the cloud storage platform for its VoxSERVER server line, VoxCLOUD cloud computing services, and VoxCAST global content delivery network (CDN).

-- Storage and document imaging VAR Promark Technology has entered into a distribution agreement with Scale Computing. As a result, Promark Technology will distribute Scale Computing's commodity-based clustered storage solutions in the United States.

-- Mellanox Technologies has announced the availability of FlexBoot, a multiprotocol remote boot technology that allows IT administrators to provision servers in the data center using ConnectX adapters either over InfiniBand with Boot over InfiniBand (BoIB) or Ethernet with Boot over Ethernet (BoE).
