-- Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium, the official broadcaster of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, has selected Isilon's IQ scale-out NAS systems as the primary repository for raw footage and video package content. A single, shared pool of storage will be used for ingest, encoding, editing and delivery of content.

-- ProStor Systems has added Integrated Document Technologies (IDT) to its lineup of resellers. IDT will resell ProStor's InfiniVault systems with RDX removable disk drives.

-- NetEx has added support for Microsoft's Hyper-V virtualization platform to NetEx's HyperIP WAN optimization/acceleration software.

-- Sony Electronics has expanded its family of DAT tape with the introduction of a new cartridge, model DAT320. The new cartridge is Sony’s first DAT product to use the company’s Advanced Metal Evaporated (AME) technology to increase recording density and yield higher capacity. The new cartridge can store up to 320GB on a single removable cartridge with a 24MBps data transfer rate (compressed at a 2:1 ratio). A new feature in this DAT format generation is the addition of hardware-based data encryption to provide additional security for stored data and better performance for the data storage system. The DAT320 drive can read and write DAT160 and DAT 320 media and is available now, with a list price of $45.99.

-- LaCie is offering USB flash keys with a twist – integrated cloud storage via Wuala. The new LaCie CooKey and LaCie WhizKey offer up to 32GB of storage and include an additional, integrated 4GB of storage through Wuala’s online storage service. LaCie offers up to 4GB for two years on all LaCie flash keys and 10GB of Wuala online storage for one year in combination with its hard disk storage products. The LaCie CooKey and WhizKey will be available in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB capacities through the LaCie Online Store, LaCie Reseller+, and LaCie Corner, starting at the suggested retail price of $19.99.
