MEDIA ALERT: Fujitsu Offers Single Controller ETERNUS Storage Solution-ETERNUS2000 Single Controller SAN Offers Low-Cost Entry to a High-Availability Capable Storage System

SUNNYVALE, CA, Aug 26, 2008 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Event: Fujitsu Computer Systems Corporation today announced the ETERNUS(R)2000 Single Controller SAN, offering low-cost entry to a storage solution that can be reconfigured for high-availability when the need arises. The ETERNUS2000 Single Controller SAN offers the same scalability and basic features and functionality as the dual-controller ETERNUS2000 SAN.

Significance: The ETERNUS2000 Single Controller lets managers save money while still future-proofing purchases for their growing data centers. The ETERNUS2000 Single Controller SAN delivers enterprise-class functionality and power efficiency for remote offices and cost-sensitive enterprise applications, while offering the scalability -- up to 72 TB -- and the eventual high availability that growing organizations need. The quiet, compact 2U storage system offers a three-tiered storage pool including MAID, virtual LUNs for flexible capacity expansion with business continuity, and snapshots and mirroring.

Quotes: "Our small- and medium-sized enterprise customers have made it clear that future-proofing their IT purchases is critical given today's tight budgets," said Dave Egan, senior vice president, storage at Fujitsu. "While many organizations today can't justify the additional cost of a high-availability storage solution, preparing the infrastructure for this capability ensures significantly higher ROI for the ETERNUS2000 SAN."

Price and Availability: The ETERNUS2000 Single Controller will be available at the end of August 2008; priced starting below $8,000.
