Vision Solutions, a provider of high availability and disaster recovery solutions in IBM's Power Systems markets, announced on Wednesday (23 July) an important milestone in its market roll-out of EchoCluster for AIX by passing compatibility testing with information technology company IBM's (NYSE:IBM) BladeCenter JS21 Express and SAN hardware.
The validation benchmark was reportedly conducted on hardware at IBM's Shenzhen Power Systems testing facility in China by team members from both IBM and Vision's AIX development laboratory near Boston, USA.
According to the company, Vision Solutions' EchoCluster provides continuous server monitoring for AIX applications, as well as automated failover to a secondary server, ensuring IBM customers keep critical applications highly available on local or remote servers. The solution can be used in conjunction with EchoStream for data replication with any-point-in-time Continuous Data Protection (CDP). The combination is particularly suitable for heterogeneous storage environments resulting from mergers and acquisitions.
No financial or pricing details were disclosed.
