October 21, 2010 – IBM has qualified Brocade’s 10GbE 8470 Switch Modules and model 1007 converged network adapters (CNAs) for use in Big Blue’s BladeCenter servers.

The embedded 8470 converged switch supports 10GbE and 8Gbps Fibre Channel ports, as well as the Data Center Bridging (DCB) and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) protocols, as do the model 1007 CNAs.

Brocade also announced support for the recently ratified 16Gbps Fibre Channel standard, and said that the company will have an end-to-end 16Gbps Fibre Channel product portfolio in the first half of 2011.
