Securing Networked Storage

This document provides an overview of security threats in a Network Attached Storage environment and countermeasures offered by Decru DataFort® storage security appliances. Securing all the copies of data can be a challenge for any organization. Decru's appliance-based storage security solutions encrypt data at the source, thus, automatically securing all copies of the data. Since Decru's products provide encryption with authentication - who you are; authorization - what you are allowed to do; and accountability - who did what; the access to confidential data is limited to a few devices and individuals. In this way, achieving overall system security is greatly simplified by having to secure the data rather than the perimeter.
