Sony announces CD-RW drive
Sony Electronics announced its first CD-RW multifunctional drive, the Spressa CRX100E/CH, which offers 4X recording onto CD-R media, 2X recording to CD-RW media, and up to 24X read speed.
Sony has also bundled abCD software, which allows users to drag and drop files and folders directly to the drive icon as well as save files directly to the disc from any application. abCD also enables users to update and delete files to and from the CD-RW drive similarly to a hard drive or floppy with the incorporation of Direct OverWrite (DOW) technology.The Sony CRX100E/CH bundle has a suggested list price of $399 and is available through catalog distribution, Sony, and its retailers and VARs.
