Astrum Software intros storage asset tool

Last month, Astrum Software announced the immediate availability of StorCast, a storage asset management tool for Windows NT, 98, and 95 environments. StorCast is designed to manage storage requirements by automatically monitoring and controlling storage consumption while providing system performance management and asset trend information.

Astrum officials claim StorCast supports an unlimited number of network systems and disk objects (files, directories, disks, network shares), thus providing an integrated solution for identifying, reporting, and reacting to shortages of disk-free space, as well as processor, memory, and disk I/O performance problems. StorCast captures and reports on over 50 system data points for asset trend data, including processor, memory, and file-system usage information, which can be used for resource and capacity planning.

StorCast runs on standard Intel Pentium systems running Windows NT Server, NT Workstation, Windows 98 and Windows 95. StorCast list prices range from $149 for a single-system license for Windows 95 or 98 systems, $395 for a single-system license for a Windows NT workstation system, and $995 for a single-system license for a Windows NT server system.
