Plasmon launches hybrid AutoTower
At last month`s AIIM show in Atlanta, Plasmon IDE demonstrated its new AutoTower, a network-attached storage (NAS) device that includes DVD-RAM and is designed to leverage the benefits of hard disk drives, automated libraries, and storage management software.
Designed for small to medium networks, the AutoTower with DVD-RAM offers near-line, rewritable storage for data-intensive files as well as medical imaging and backup applications. AutoTower runs on Ethernet 10/100, ATM 25/155, or Token Ring network environments. Preliminary pricing for a two-drive, 120-slot model is less than $15,000. www.plasmon.com.
