Luminex ships DVD-RAM recording tool

Luminex Software recently announced the availability of its network-enabled NET-DVD recording suite. Based on Luminex`s Fire series for Unix software and NET-CDR product, NET-DVD offers automated DVD-based archiving, data duplication, and distribution.

NET-DVD can be used in Luminex`s DVD-RAM libraries and as a stand-alone configuration for local or networked DVD recording. With NET-DVD, any local or remote directory accessible from a Unix server can be recorded to DVD-RAM drives.

The software supports recording and retrieval of ISO 9660, Rockridge, Joliet, and Macintosh HFS-formatted DVD-RAM discs. NET-DVD can be used in network environments that support Sun, SGI, HP, and IBM servers. The software suite lists for $6,995.
