Exabyte adds Ethernet connectivity

Last month, Exabyte began offering an optional Ethernet port for its 230D DLTtape Arrowhead library. The port makes it easier for users to integrate Exabyte libraries into storage area networks (SANs) or network-attached storage (NAS) environments, providing the 230D with browser-based, out-of-band remote management capabilities.

The 230D Ethernet feature supports SNMP and is compatible with Exabyte`s NetStorM Resource Manager software, for remote communicate with the library via a Java applet. The optional software provides additional reporting capabilities, including polling, logging, event trapping and signaling.

The Ethernet port can be purchased as an add-on option or can be directly installed at the factory. It is priced at $5,000.
