Distributor Hall-Mark Global Solu-tions has announced plans to build a storage-centric VAR network focused on providing storage area network (SAN) products. The company is building the network through a newly formed storage unit, which is an expansion of its server-centric focus.
In addition to assembling a group of storage-centric resellers with geographic, vertical, and technology specialization, Hall-Mark plans to expand the scope of its distribution relationships with storage and networking manufacturers.
"We're looking for resellers who lead with storage when they answer the customer, and discuss their entire storage needs from backup recovery strategies to data management," says Raymond Fischer, executive vice president and general manager of Hall-Mark's storage unit. Hall-Mark will provide financial, logistical, and training resources to its resellers.
The division has already signed up StorageTek, and more distribution announcements are expected soon, according to Fischer.
Hall-Mark Global Solutions, based in Tempe, AZ, is a distribution division of Avnet Inc.
